Course description

Managing people through change, and communicating that change in the right way, is a significant challenge for any manager.

We show you a range of tools and techniques that will enable you to communicate change in a more positive and effective way, manage the emotional reaction to change, and structure a solid communication plan.

Is it right for me?

If you’re a manager, supervisor, or team leader in a change environment, this change management training programme will provide you with the skills and knowledge to successfully lead your team through the transition.

What will I get out of it?

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Identify the emotional stages that people experience when change happens
  • Manage through the emotional steps by putting in place a communication strategy that involves and includes all interested/affected parties
  • Structure a change plan and communicate the plan according to appropriate communication methods
  • State the why, who, what, how and when of managing change

Trainer was very personable and very knowledgeable about her subject and made everyone feel included at all times.  She used life examples of how this might apply, sharing some of her own personal examples of this.  Course tempo was kept just right and she made the learning fun - if only I had been more responsive to that, for me it would have been great!

What does it cover?

  • Sharing participants’ experiences of change and discussing effects and challenge
  • Discussing up to date models of change and change theory
  • Exploring the emotional journey caused by change
  • How to manage through the emotional curve
  • How to prevent and deal with “corridor rumour”
  • Using a clear communication structure
  • Some key questions to ask
  • Practical exercise to put together a communication plan
