UKOUGCourse description

Successful project management requires effective planning. For those who need to create and manage detailed plans, Primavera P6 can be an effective tool for the job and is fast becoming the industry standard.

We show you all the tools and techniques you need to be aware of in order to utilise Primavera P6 for planning projects – including detailed activity and resource planning.  We also include a full case study to help embed the learning gained throughout the course.

Is it right for me?

Our Primavera For Practitioners course is an intensive two day course aimed at experienced planners and project controllers who need to use Primavera to create and manage detailed plans.  It includes creating EPS levels, projects, WBS levels and detailed activity and resource planning.

Experience of project planning and scheduling techniques is essential.  For those new to planning and scheduling we would recommend attending our Project Planning, Scheduling, Monitoring and Control course prior to attending this course or to attend our Introduction to Planning and Control using Primavera P6 instead.

What will I get out of it?

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Create a programme structure
  • Create projects and set project properties
  • Create programme milestones
  • Create a work breakdown structure (WBS)
  • Create detailed plans including activities, links and resources
  • Manage actuals
  • Customise layouts
  • Use the reporting tools in Primavera

I learnt how to use P6 Primavera, enabling me to update current programmes and create my own.  The venue was excellent - the food itself needs a special mention
