Course description

Successful project management requires strong planning skills. Those skills can be gained through a combination of on-the-job experience and formal learning.

We show you all the essential techniques you need to understand in order to be an effective and efficient planner – from top-down and detailed planning, to baselines and the planning checklist.

A comprehensive software-based simulation will be used throughout the updating and maintaining sessions to practise the updating of project information, and valuable feedback will be gained on the suitability of the decisions made and the impact on the overall project objectives.

Is it right for me?

This course looks at range of key planning skills including the necessity to produce a robust schedule and the subsequent ability to monitor and keep control of a project

We show you  the appropriate techniques you need to produce an accurate scope of work, identify the key activities and logically link them to the optimum level of detail needed to plan, progress and control your project

If you’re an existing project planner, project controller, or anyone whose role requires them to produce and maintain detailed project plans, this course will enhance your current skills and ability.

What will I get out of it?

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Implement a structured approach to planning projects
