Effective Requirements

One of the problems recognised in the area of Requirements Engineering is a lack of understanding of the value of the work performed, both within the practitioner community and their managers, and in particular how the quality of work performed can significantly either increase or reduce value both of the intended solution, but also of the work performed to get there.

This course is focused on providing delegates with an increased understanding of the value of requirements activities and how to maximise this through the overall lifecycle.

The course is structured around a set of five themes, each with a number of lower level key messages, aligned with, but building on the INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbook.

Course delivery style is facilitated and utilises a team-based Case Study, multiple exercises, videos and games to ensure maximum delegate participation with the added benefits of that hands-on participative learning brings. Some of the exercises use delegates’ own specifications to show how value may be improved so delegates are required to bring a specification (or extract) relevant to their day job to the course.
